Twelve residents injured in a protest against land expropriation near Salfit
The National Resistance Committee reported on Friday that twelve residents were injured near the west Bank city of Salfit after the Israeli army attacked a peaceful protest against the ongoing Israeli annexation of Palestinian lands in order to pave a settler-only road.
The twelve residents suffered gas inhalation as the army fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at them.
The residents were protesting against the latest annexation of their lands in Kafil Hares village and the total closure of their village in addition to the ongoing construction of the Annexation Wall and the ongoing expansion of illegal settlements.
Nasfat Al Khafsh, the coordinator of the National Resistance Committee expressed appreciation for the large public participation in the protest and stated that this protest is part of the series of protests against settlements, the Wall and the ongoing illegal annexation of Palestinian orchards and lands in Salfit district.
Ahmad Boziyya, head of Kafil Hares village council, stated that the ongoing nonviolent resistance will continue as long as Israel continues its illegal activities against the residents and their lands.
